Kristen Anne Bell (born 1980) is an American performer and actress. Her birthplace and childhood was in Huntington Woods, Michigan, and is the daughter of Lorelei (Frygier) who is Nurse and Tom Bell, a television news director. Her ancestry is Polish (mother) and German, English, Irish and Scottish (father). Kristen realized her potential within the industry of entertainment when she was just a teenager. In 1992, she went to her first audition. She was successful and got a role in Raggedy Ann and Andy. Bell was appointed by her mom to become an agent when she was only thirteen years old. She was then chosen for the newspaper advertisements and TV commercials. Along with having private lessons and acting lessons, she started her career at that time. Bell had a role that was not credited of Polish Wedding (1998), an upcoming film. Bell was a student at Shrine Catholic High School, which was where she participated in both the music and drama club. The Wizard of Oz was staged by her high school, and she was awarded the role of Dorothy. After graduation Bell relocated in New York City to attend the highly regarded Tisch School of the Arts in which she was a musical theater student. Bell was a graduate in 2001, left her studies at the university to play in the role of Becky as Becky in Tom Sawyer. Also in 2001 that Bell's first appearance in a movie that had been credited, Pootie Tang (2002). The scene she appeared in was cut and the credits only show her. Bell made her debut in 2002. Bell was on The Crucible, a Broadway revival of The Crucible with Liam Neeson as well as Angela Bettis.
